Purpose of a music video
Most music video's are produced to sell the song and invoke a reaction so it leaves you remembering the song. They also help an artist publicize themselves. Michael Jackson’s video for “Thriller” straddles the line between marketing campaign and film for film’s sake which makes it a curious addition.
