4.1 PLTS

(Independent Enquirers)
1. Identify questions to answer and problems to resolve.
- I wanted to find out where music videos originated from and what special effects they use to have in early music videos if there were any.

6. Support conclusions, using reasoned arguments and evidence.
- I found out the answers to my questions through researching the history of music videos. From my research, I produced a PowerPoint presentation which looks at the history of music videos and how the first music videos were like. I made two PowerPoint presentations, one that takes a look at the history of music videos and the other which focuses on early music videos and how they have developed over time.

4.1 Purpose of a Music video

Purpose of a music video

Most music video's are produced to sell the song and invoke a reaction so it leaves you remembering the song. They also help an artist publicize themselves. Michael Jackson’s video for “Thriller” straddles the line between marketing campaign and film for film’s sake which makes it a curious addition.

Music Video

This is a music video consisting of colour, sound and special effects which highlights the change in technology over time.

Coloured Film

This video shows the development of bot sound and colour being used in films tday. As you can see there has been a huge and rapid development in these technology. The quality of films now is much better and improved tan it was before.

Black and White Sound Film

This video is an example of a sound film. This was when sound for films had been discovered. However, colour in film had not been develped yet as you can see.

Silent Movie

These two video's are examples of silent movies which are movies without sound as sound was not yet developed.
